  • The real ultimate PC (that can still run win xp) would be much newer though – something like a 7350k, 8gb of 3000Mhz+ ram (4 would obviously be enough, but you want dual channel and there are no 2gb sticks of ddr4, although I think there were a couple of z170 boards that had ddr3 in which case 4gb of 2400Mhz would be just fine) and then either a 780ti (fastest gpu with official drivers), 960 (newest official gpu) or even 980ti (fastest gpu than you can make work by slightly modding the drivers)

  • I had a 530 until last summer haha. I got it out of a WEEE skip at work and asides from a broken power button, it worked fine. I put Debian on it and ran a Minecraft server for some friends, but as more joined I had to upgrade. Great video, love this era of hardware.

  • I don't know how you find these so cheap 😂 all I need is a cheap tower with hdmi 4/8 GB of ram and runs YouTube or films well and I'm able to do my phone stuff/upgrading

  • Is this a joke? The ultimate Windows XP build would be something like a 4-6 core extreme edition, 16gb of 2400-3200 ddr3 ram, a raid 0 ssd setup, and 3-4 way sli 780ti. Watercool the entire thing and bam ultimate Windows XP build.

  • Your power supply is probably better than the dodgy chinese "80 Plus Gold Rated" modular PSU I use for my Ryzen 3700X and Radeon 5700 XT main build

  • Yes i did enjoyed watching the video, you just put me back to the golden days. I believe Windows XP is the best OS in the history and i know some people did not want to move away from it but they got forced to because they need things that are not running in XP anymore. It was my case a few years ago when i would'nt leave XP but i had to, i still missing it today, things are so simple in it.
    Thanks for sharing this.

  • Nice video I use e8400 xfx 6850 for my xp gaming rig and yes work like charm. Some ppl not like some not know how to save older tech. At least all those old computers are build to serve even on moon or mars conditions, today tech is literally crap and in 10 or more years think we not be in position to save or repurpose today tech…

  • That was the family computer for a while until it was given to me for my own personal computer. It ran okay back in the day and then as time went by it was slow as hell. I even tried doing some upgrades and even formated a whole new hard drive to make it decent to use. It was still pretty slow, I had recently traded a better laptop to a friend who was moving away, that laptop was way more better than that desktop. I would prolly use it again but I would use it for something better. There's a little thing called NSV (NullSoft Video) that was created by Nullsoft in 2003 and I wanna use older hardware to pretty much make my own little tv station using that old 2000s software.

  • I have this exact Inspiron 530 that I need to slap a GPU and a new drive onto…well, and a PSU, because this one has no way to power a GPU… Other than that – it works! 😀
I'm gonna have a blast from the past playing with XP in a bit… oh deal, what a shock it will be going away from my RTX 2080Ti SLI build to that… O_O
